WORD BASICS:

Create, Close, Save, Preview, and Print documents. Learn keyboard shortcuts to move around in a document. Learn shortcuts for selecting (highlighting) text with mouse or keyboard.

FORMAT DOCUMENT:

Change margins, justification, and line spacing. Add borders and shading, page numbers, special symbols and characters, clip art, dropped capitals, etc.

FORMAT TEXT:

Bold, italicize, and underline text, change font, change font size. Add bullets and numbers, create an Numbered Outline List.

EDIT TEXT:

Cut and Paste, Copy and Paste, Drag and Drop text. Delete text, Undo and Redo actions.

SPELL CHECKER / GRAMMAR CHECKER / THESAURUS:

Run Spell Checker, Grammar Checker, and Thesaurus. Add new words to AutoCorrect dictionary.

MISC:

Use AutoText and AutoComplete to save time with repetitive data entry, insert automatically updating Date field.

GRAPHICS:

Use Drawing toolbar to add graphic elements to your documents. Add ClipArt and pictures.

PREREQUISITES:
Must be proficient with the mouse and keyboard. Course handout will cover version 2007-2010. Students will use version 2007 in class.
