NOTE: This class is recommended for students who have not created formulas or charts.

EXCEL BASICS:  

Create, Open, Close, Save, Preview, and Print a spreadsheet. 

FORMATTING: 

Add borders, patterns (background colors). Center, Bold, Italicize, change font/font size. Apply an AutoFormat that includes borders, patterns, and other formatting. Convert numbers to currency or percentages. Add ClipArt and pictures, rename a spreadsheet, etc. 

FORMULAS & AUTOSUM: 

Use AutoSum to add numbers. Use Formulas to add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers, calculate percentages. Learn how to copy Formulas. 

EDIT A SPREADSHEET: 

Select (highlight) cells. Copy, Move, Format, and Delete text and numbers. Insert rows and columns. Insert pages. Resize rows and columns. Add Headers and Footers to spreadsheet. Learn about various printing options. Split panes to view different parts of spreadsheet simultaneously. Freeze and Unfreeze panes to view titles while scrolling down a page.   

CHARTS

Create and edit a variety of different charts.

PREREQUISITES: Must be proficient with the mouse and keyboard. Course handout covers version 2007-2010. Students will use version 2007 in class.
